Well shiver me timbers, if it wasn’t one of the first things to greet me as I entered Stanilands Marina on the 1st of September; a bunch of pirates fighting with cutlasses! I needn’t have worried though as it was just one of the many attractions on offer at the 13th annual Regatta.
With a host of stalls, displays & competitions there was something for all the family.
Boat trips on the Ethel Trust Community Barge were available on the canal, Whilst dog displays, vintage & classic car displays, dancing from Dance Academy DCUK and live music from the Marina band were on the bank.
TMCR helped the day flow with a mixture of music & chat and the stalls boasted model boat displays, knot tying demonstrations & face painting.
Also present amongst the various stalls were the organisations & charities such as the Inner Wheel of Thorne, RNLI, Friends of Buntings Wood.
