Bank holiday weekend brings a festival of music to Thorne with two events set to host a number of live performances.
Blastonbury, held in the car park off The Green in Thorne over the last few years, moves this year to the Toll Bar field off Hatfield Road in Thorne. The event takes place over three days, Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August, with fifteen acts lined up to perform over the weekend.
Bank Holiday Sunday (25 Aug) sees the annual Millfest return to the Windmill Inn on Queen Street in Thorne where five acts are set to perform on the day.
At Blastonbury, indie band The Leathernecks headline Friday; Saturday’s headliners are Revival Abba, who will perform their tribute to the famous Scandinavian pop group and Sunday’s headliners are Dirty Jackdc who celebrate the music of Aussie rockers AC/DC. A further twelve acts perform at Blastonbury over the weekend including Whitesnake tribute Lovehunter, rock covers band Groom Lake Fugitives and pop-punksters 5K!.
At Millfest, Thorne’s own Clog Iron Brothers, One for the Road and Sticky Bandits will be joined by the Vinyl Years and solo artist Dom Major.
