YESTERDAY (Fri 4 May): The pedestrian bridge over the canal at Thorne has re-opened after being closed for a number of weeks.
The bridge, which spans the Stainforth & Keadby canal between Hatfield Road and South Parade in Thorne, had been closed to pedestrians since the end of March.
A problem with the bridge’s hydraulic system is understood to have caused the closure.
During the closure period, the bridge remained in the open position to allow boat and barge traffic to travel along the canal.
