Local pair Mark Allen and Becky Kirwan are to walk the Cleveland Way National Trail in aid of the Cheeky Smiles Fund this weekend.
Author, Mark, and Moorends resident, Becky, plan to walk 109 miles around the North York Moors National Park from Filey to Helmsley.
The pair set off on Friday (8 Sept) and are aiming to complete the challenge inside three days, sleeping in the great outdoors in-between stages.
“It is the biggest thing we have done”, said Mark, who has completed a number of challenges in the past for charity.
Last year the Cheeky Smiles Fund donated over £7,000 pounds to primary schools in Thorne & Moorends to put towards educational trips for all of their students.
This year the charitable cause are looking to support local out-of-school clubs for young people and their running total so far stands at over £4,000.
