Thorne Moorends Town Council comes together tomorrow evening for their Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting sees councillors vote to appoint a member to the position of Chair and Town Mayor along with a deputy. Votes are also taken to appoint councillors who will represent the town council on external bodies.
Among the other agenda items are a request to install new portacabin club rooms at Moorends Recreation Ground for the Marauders rugby club, a replacement works van and consideration of quotes for asbestos related work in town council buildings.
Matters for discussion in a private session include proposals for the Delves building refurbishment, the sale of town council land near the Market Place and a request for financial support from Thorne Community Angling Association.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting and have an opportunity to raise matters relating to any agenda items. The meeting starts at 7.15pm on Tuesday 14 May at the Coulman Pavilion on Coulman Street in Thorne.
