Thorne Moorends Town Council meets in Moorends tonight with fifteen items on the agenda.
Among the items of business listed for discussion is a proposal to provide a budget for a VE Day 2020 event as next year sees the 75th anniversary of World War II’s ‘Victory in Europe’ day.
Town councillors will also discuss a request from a resident concerning a speed reduction along a section of the A18 near Thorne and will hear a report from the Town Clerk giving details about the event planned for the upcoming UCI world cycling championships coming through Thorne this month.
Regular items such as matters raised by the public, planning applications and financial reports are also listed. Three items are listed for discussion after the exclusion of press and public is agreed.
The meeting, on Tuesday 10 September, takes place at the Winning Post in Moorends starting at 7.00pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
