A flood warning is now in force for the River Don at Thorne & Moorends.
The Government Flood information service says levels on the River Don have risen today (Sat 9 Nov) and the area is now deemed ‘at risk’.
The information service says: “Although no further significant rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours, we expect river levels to remain high throughout today.” The service adds: “Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.”
“We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident room is open.”
