A spokesperson for Asda said: “This is a tremendous opportunity for ‘Chosen by You’ through the Asda Foundation to give a financial boost to many of the community groups and organisations in the area. If many groups are struggling for funding for everyday things then this fund will go a long way to help sustain them.
“Groups that have not applied before are encouraged to do so. If you are a group or organisation that meets on a regular basis then now is the time. You could be a sports club, a knitting group, a baking club or even a group of people that meet in the community to support each or socialise you maybe eligible so why not give it a try and apply. You will be helped and supported in your application by the Community Champion”.
