A man has died after being hit by a train in Thorne.
Emergency services were called to Lands End Road foot crossing near Thorne North rail station at around 10.20pm yesterday (Monday 5 February), following reports a man had been struck by a train.
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
British Transport Police and Network Rail have been at the scene of the incident this morning.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) said: “We were called to Lands End Foot Crossing in Doncaster at around 10.20pm yesterday, to reports that a person had been struck by a train.
“BTP officers and the ambulance service attended. Sadly a man died at the scene.
“His next of kin has been informed.
“The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner”.
A replacement bus ran between Doncaster and Goole last night to replace the cancelled 23.15 Doncaster to Goole service, whilst buses and taxis were used to carry passengers from Goole towards Hull.
