The Barge Inn at Staniland Marina is set to host a number of acts at the weekend when its waterside music festival gets underway.
The marina is playing host to eleven acts over the weekend with the Bogus Brothers headlining on the Friday and Brit-pop tribute bands Blurry and Oasis Maybe headlining on the Saturday.
Held over Friday 20 and Saturday 21 July, Thorne Waterside Music Festival offers a jam packed weekend of live music, food, drink and family activities.
Lining up on the Friday night are a mix of tastes to suit everyone with local singer Toni Goulden getting the party started at 6.00pm. Toni is then followed by York based trio Sledge Against the Machine who perform before Dark Lightning – a big hit at last year’s festival – take to the stage. Friday night is then topped off with the acclaimed Bogus Brothers, who have a song list ranging from 70s & 80s classics right through to the latest anthems.
Saturday kicks off with local favourites Saints Among Us belting out a mixed set of well known and original material including their newly released single. They are followed by Beautifully Dangerous, another local band, before pop covers outfit Mad About Mandy take to the stage. Britpop cover band Choons perform ahead of local rockers Gordon’s Alive who are fronted by the ever talented Craig Headley. The weekend is then rounded off in true Brit-pop style with performances from Blurry and Oasis Maybe.
