South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Hatfield where a passer-by was threatened.
The force says it was reported at 2pm on Wednesday 9 October that four men wearing face coverings, and armed with what is thought to have been a machete, forced entry into a property on Cemetery Road in Hatfield.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The occupants were not at home at the time of the burglary and the alarm at the property was activated during the incident.
“As the offenders left the property, they threatened a local man walking by.
“The offenders were believed to have left the scene in a silver Ford Fiesta.”
