Residents of Thorne and Moorends are being offered the chance to have their say on the opportunities available locally to participate in physical activity.
People are being asked to take part in an online survey and answer questions about their own experiences in relation to physical activity opportunities in Thorne and Moorends.
The research is looking at physical activity in the area in general and around events such as the UCI cycling championships that are coming to Doncaster towards the end of September.
The research is being conducted by Leeds Beckett University and is endorsed by Doncaster Council. Ultimately it hopes to identify areas which can be improved upon in an effort to get people more active.
Jennifer Rawson, who is undertaking the research for Leeds Beckett University, said: “We want to capture locals’ perspectives and experiences of physical activity in their area so we can then make plans on how to improve this. The reason for the focus on physical activity is due to the social, mental and physical benefits.”
