Town centre roads in Thorne are to be closed for six consecutive Sundays throughout July and August.
Doncaster council says ‘substantial carriageway improvement works’ which include resurfacing or patching existing roads, and some drainage improvements, are to be carried out to roads through Thorne town centre.
The work will be done in stages, on Sundays, between 8.00am – 6.00pm. Signed diversions will be in place.
The road closures are: Sunday 7 July and Sunday 14 July, South Parade (from Horse Fair Green to junction with Sliver Street), Silver Street and Market Place; Sunday 21 July, King Street (from Market Place to junction with The Green); Sunday 28 July, King Street (from junction with The Green to junction with Field Road); Sunday 4 August, King Street (entire length); Sunday 11 August, Fieldside from junction with King Street/Field Road to junction with the Vermuyden Centre.
Doncaster council says further works to patch sections of Fieldside and Selby Road will be carried out from Monday 22 July for approximately one week. Temporary traffic lights will be in place for those works.
