A section of the towpath that runs alongside the Stainforth & keadby canal in Thorne has been closed to allow for improvement works.
The closure runs from Thorne Lock swing bridge, near Staniland Marina, down to where the towpath exits onto Hatfield Road near the pedestrian swing bridge.
Part of the the grassed towpath is being replaced with stone & gravel to improve the walkway.
A notice issued by the Canal & River Trust reads: “Contractors are carrying out towpath refurbishment works to upgrade the existing structure. Due to the extent of the works a towpath closure is required.”
The notice continues: “Navigation of the waterway will remain as normal.
“Anglers will still be able to access during the works from Thorne Lock Swing bridge under the supervision of the contractor.”
The closure is scheduled to be in place from Monday 4 June to Friday 15 June.
