The Met Office has issued a weather warning this weekend that affects the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The national weather office is forecasting a spell of ‘very strong winds’, brought by Storm Ciara, and has issued an amber warning of wind for the Yorkshire and Humber region for Sunday 9 February. The Met Office says that disruption to travel is ‘likely’.
More locally, Met Office data shows gusts of wind up to 55mph could affect the Thorne area on Sunday.
Wind speeds are expected to increase throughout Saturday and the early hours of Sunday morning. The amber warning period for the Yorkshire and Humber region starts at 8.00am tomorrow morning and continues up to 9.00pm tomorrow evening.
Warnings are also in place in other areas across the United Kingdom.
