A man was arrested after police caught up with a delivery van that had been reported stolen in Thorne.
Police say a report was made at 4.03pm today (Fri 4 Nov) that a delivery van had been stolen.
“The vehicle was tracking through Thorne town centre before making it’s way along Kirton Lane into Stainforth”, said Sgt James Housley.
“At 4.13pm officers got behind the vehicle as it entered Stainforth – cue the blue lights and siren – the driver of the stolen van then made the decision to dump the van and give it legs – unfortunately for him he tried to outrun our officers but failed.”
Sgt Housley added: “Another good result for residents of Doncaster East – vehicle recovered and given back to the owner.”
A 42-year-old male was arrested and taken to Doncaster custody suite to be interviewed.
