Thorne Moorends Town Council says the pedestrian bridge over the canal in Thorne is ‘not available for use’.
In a post to social media, the town council says the bridge has “developed a fault” adding: “An engineer is scheduled to visit tomorrow [Friday 31 July] to hopefully deal with any necessary repairs. The bridge will not therefore be available for pedestrian use until the repairs are completed.”
The pedestrian bridge links between Hatfield Road and South Parade in Thorne, passing over the Stainforth and Keadby Canal.
Until repaired, the bridge will be in the ‘open’ position to allow boat traffic to travel along the canal.
