Thorne and Moorends Pentecostal Church is on a mission to share the joy of Christmas with children in need around the world.
The church is partnering with Operation Christmas Child, a project of the international christian relief organisation Samaritan’s Purse.
The project takes shoe boxes and fills them with toys, school supplies and hygiene items. These gifts will then be delivered to children in need overseas this Christmas.
From now until 22 November, Thorne and Moorends Pentecostal Church hopes to collect more than 100 shoe box gifts to contribute to the local number collected throughout Doncaster.
In Doncaster, five sites will serve as collection centres for shoe box gift donations. Operation Christmas Child has a global goal of collecting enough shoe box gifts to reach more than nine million children this year.
