A service of remembrance is to be held in Thorne to commemorate the lives lost during the Falklands war forty years ago.
The event, led by the local branch of the Royal British Legion, will be held at the cenotaph in Thorne Memorial Park.
The Thorne branch of the legion says the service will remember the British servicemen and Falkland islanders who lost their lives during the conflict, and “the service personnel who still carry the physical and mental scars of the operations to retake the Falkland Islands.”
Veterans and members of the public are welcome to attend the service on Tuesday 14 June, which starts at 3.00pm.
