Fire News In Brief – March 2020
Sunday 29 March
Firefighters from Thorne station attended a ‘deliberate’ rubbish fire at 7:25pm on Broadbent Gate Road, Moorends. South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue says the crew left at 8:25pm.
Sunday 22 March
Firefighters from Thorne were called to a rubbish fire on Cuckoo Lane, Hatfield, at 7.29pm. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “It is thought this was started deliberately by young people in the vicinity”. Crews had extinguished the fire by 7.53pm.
Firefighters from Thorne were also called to a wheelie bin fire on Meadow Lane, Stainforth, at 10.20pm on Sunday 22 March. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said this had been dealt with by 10.30pm and is believed to have been started “deliberately”.
Thursday 19 March
At 7:35pm a ‘for sale’ sign was deliberately set on fire on High Street, Hatfield. Thorne firefighters were called out to the incident. A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said they left at 7:45pm.
