Thorne Moorends town councillors are to meet again this month after an extraordinary meeting was called by the town mayor.
With a short five item agenda, councillors will be asked to discuss a request to erect a commemorative plaque to former footballer Gillian Coultard before entering a closed session.
Originally from Thorne, Ms Coultard is a former England women’s football captain and was recently awarded an MBE.
Then, under the heading “Evaluation of the administrative functions of the town council”, the ‘behind closed doors’ part of the meeting will see town mayor Craig Ellis report on developments following decisions made at a previous meeting of the town council in April.
Local government legislation allows councils to go into private session when the business to be discussed is considered to be ‘of a confidential nature’.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Assembly Rooms in Thorne on Wednesday 27 April starting at 7.00pm.
