Friday 31 July
Thorne Moorends Town Council has confirmed the pedestrian bridge over the canal in Thorne is now back in operation. A spokesperson said: “We regret any inconvenience caused whilst the bridge has been broken down.”
Friday 10 July
Dunsville community centre says its committee is planning to meet ‘at the end of the month’ to discuss plans for the community centre to reopen. The centre has been closed to all users since March due to the coronavirus situation.
Monday 6 July
Stainforth cemetery has resumed its normal opening hours. The cemetery on Church Road had previously been operating with reduced visiting times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Stainforth Town Council made the announcement on Friday (3 July) and asked that visitors continue to respect social distancing measures.
Friday 3 July
Thorne Moorends Town Council has announced its play areas will open from Saturday 4 July. The town council says user numbers will be restricted and social distancing ‘must’ be applied. Signage will be in place and the council says it will be undertaking ‘regular’ cleaning of the equipment. The council’s four play areas are: Thorne Memorial Park; Wike Gate Road Recreation Ground, Thorne; Moorends Recreation Ground, and the new Delves Woodland Play Trail in Thorne.
