Firefighters from Thorne station will be welcoming local people into their station on Friday 2 August for a ‘fun-packed’ open day.
There will be a range of activities and demonstrations planned throughout the day, including:
• Road Traffic Collision demonstration
• Fire engine to look around
• Road safety demonstrations including an interactive Subaru
• Chip pan demonstration
• The Red Cross
• Police
• Refreshments
• Various emergency service vehicles
And much much more.
Station Manager Mike Anthony said, “The fire station is a large part of the local community so we are inviting local people to come along and find out a little more about how things work here at the station.
“There will be plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy a really good day out, so please come down and see us on the 2nd of August. Our firefighters will be on hand to offer road and fire safety advice, as well as lots of other partners who will be there to offer advice on a range of other subjects.”
The event on Friday 2 August will be open between 10am and 4pm at Thorne Fire Station, Union Road, Thorne DN8 5EL.
