Road closures to allow demolition work to take place in Thorne Town Centre are planned for next month.
Silver St in Thorne Town Centre will be closed on two separate occasions in July to allow the demolition of two town centre buildings.
The former Hirst’s shop in Thorne Market Place and the old police building on Silver St are both set for demolition.
To allow the work to take place, Silver St is scheduled to be closed on Sunday 15 July and Sunday 29 July, from 5.00am to midnight on both dates. A diversion route will be in place.
Planning permission for demolition of the buildings and redevelopment of the site was granted by Doncaster Council in February. A decision notice was then issued in May after the plans were given the green light by the National Planning Casework Unit.
