[text_center]Ace tops 78 strong field[/text_center]
Few anglers know the Stainforth & Keadby Canal better than Sensas North rod, Paul Slack. He put his experience to good use on the fourth round of the Thorne Teams Of Three, romping to individual victory – and helping his team to leapfrog into second place behind long time leaders, Ultimate Barnsley.
Drawn on peg 206, the Sheffield ace bagged small roach on bloodworm before turning on the style, and hauling several large redfins on the seed late on in the day to win by a convincing margin.
Thorne angler John Freeborn (Sensas North) came a creditable fourth with 10-11-8, pegged opposite Orchard Street/Dunstan Drive. Along with the win for his team-mate Paul, this saw his team (Sensas North Red) move up to second place overall in the team stakes, though little could be done to usurp the league leaders, Ultimate Barnsley (James Dent, Andy Geldart and Dave Brookes jr). They put in a consistent performance to maintain their place at the top of the table – some 20lb in front of second place Sensas North Red.
