A monthly round-up from Thorne Countrywomen’s Association:
The association were looking forward starting back as normal in the sea cadet unit with safeguards in place. Following the recent news from Government about the tightening of restrictions this will now not happen.
The group has also made tentative arrangements to have a Christmas meal in local venue that can distance them to keep them safe, as long as restrictions allow it in December.
The ladies told us: “This last few months we have been meeting on zoom on a Tuesday night, discussing local and topical issues; from which face masks are the comfiest, to getting together – socially distanced of course.”
They added: “At the beginning of September we has an open air concert arranged. Andy Lloyd from islandtruffles.co.uk came to entertain us in splendid fashion with songs and jokes to make the evening go with a swing.
“All safety covid precautions were in place for the evening so that everyone was kept safe and well.
“The evening was a success and it was reported how wonderful it was to be able to see each other again and have company and a marvellous event to get the group back together again.”
The association’s meetings will now go back to zoom meetings once more.
